Aging In Your 30s & 40s
It’s no secret that for most, by the third and fourth decades, the signs of aging tend to be visibly apparent.
During the 30s and 40s photo(sun) damage from the sun becomes more prominent in the form of worsening hyperpigmentation and deeper lines. You may also notice a more dull skin tone and that your skin appears to be less supple and more thin. To add further insult to injury, the skin becomes more rough and dry. These changes occur due to a multitude of reasons including a decreased production of collagen and elastin, a decreased function of the skin’s repair mechanisms as well as a decreased amount of hyaluronic acid.
So what can you do to address these changes?
In addition to using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or greater, we recommend that you incorporate the following into your skincare regimen:
Antioxidants:
-Protect against sun damage, environmental insults, and decrease inflammation, ultimately allowing the skin the repair itself.
Hyaluronic acid:
-Helps the skin to attract and retain moisture. This helps your skin to appear more plump and smooth. It also helps to alleviate dryness and provides a dewy glow.
Peptides:
-Improve the appearance of wrinkles by encouraging the skin to repair itself.
Bakuchiol:
-Functions very similar to retinol in that it has been proven to improve signs of aging including hyperpigmentation, skin texture, skin tone as well the appearance of wrinkles. Bakuchiol was shown to be less irritating compared to retinol.
Thankfully, Levels2Skin has you covered! Rather than purchasing multiple serums, our Bakuchiol + Peptide moisturizer contains all the above and thus not only helps to improve and restore your skin but also simplifies your skin care regimen.
